Do you dream of long, luscious lashes?

If you’re not naturally blessed with them already, and many of us aren’t, then eyelash extensions could be the way to go. At Dreamers we use synthetic mink lashes as they feel softer, and look more natural.

So how do they work?

Eyelash extensions are basically semipermanent lashes that are individually hand-glued on top of your natural lashes. Unlike strip lashes, the finished look is fully customised to each individual client and the finished result actually looks real.

How long do eyelash extensions last?

Eyelash extensions can last for approximately three to six weeks. Exactly how long depends on a range of factors, including how well you look after them. They’ll eventually start to fall out naturally, just like your natural lashes, but once they do, you just need to book another appointment and have your Dreamers Lash Expert fill in any missing lashes. If you keep that routine up, you’ll keep your lashes for as long as you like!

How do you know what size eyelash extensions to get?

The type of lashes you end up with often depends on the strength and length of your own natural lashes. You’ll still want to look after the natural lashes underneath, so it’s important to make sure your extensions are suitable. Your Dreamers Lash Expert will be able to guide you towards the best option for your eyes.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

It’s best to turn up for your appointment with a clean, fresh face so avoid make up if possible. Any make up on your eyes could affect the end result so definitely avoid eye make up, mascara, eyeshadow or liner!

Can I shower with eyelash extensions?

It’s probably best to wait at least 24 hours after your appointment, mainly due to the fact that eyelash adhesive takes some time to ‘cure’, from 12 – 14 hours depending on the type of glue used. Just be sure to be gently with your lashes straight after application. If you do shower, avoid getting the lashes wet and avoid steam if you can.

Can you wash your eyes with eyelash extensions?

The best bet is to only use product specifically designed to be safe for eyelash extensions. You’ll want to avoid any ingredients that cause the lashes to shed prematurely, so check with your Dreamers Lash Expert about the best product to use. As a general rule, avoid rubbing or tugging at your eyes and remove any make up carefully.
